I had a lovely stay at Sequoia Lodge Backpackers. The staff were friendly and made me feel right at home. The kitchen facilities were excellent and always kept clean. The bed in my room was really comfy too, ensuring a good night's sleep.
The walls were quite thin, and I could hear some noise from the neighboring rooms. the bathroom could have been cleaner with wet hand towels and an unchanged shower mat.

Washing facilities and excellent value for money. Clean and cosy rooms with a powerful heater. Well-equipped kitchen. Close proximity to the Crown Hotel with a fantastic menu. a pleasant stay with homemade soup and chocolate pudding as a bonus.

A little SPA is available. At 8PM, a chocolate pudding with ice cream is served freely. The TV room is great. The kitchen is big.
The poorly soundproof wall, usual problem in backpackers.

I had an awesome stay at this hotel! The location was really handy, just a few minutes from the bus station and in front of a beautiful square. The staff was very friendly, always helpful and with excellent service. And the amenities were perfect, like free wi-fi, shared kitchen, and laundry. I loved the leisure/ tv room and the jacuzzi, while the board games and the hiking were great options for entertainment.
To sum up, I would definitely recommend this place to my friends.

The staff were friendly and pick up from ferry terminal was a bonus. The atmosphere on an evening is fun and friendly it feels like home, really good kitchen and living space, and everyone chilling out together eating chocolate pudding!
Need to update the computer! The free wifi is awesome is you have your own laptop, not many places in New Zealand offer that... But the one pc is very old and slow and updates when you log on using up your credit. Only downside to the place!
